Venezuela Rejects Assassination Attempt Against Evo Morales

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil released a statement condemning this Sunday’s armed attack against the Bolivian former president Evo Morales while traveling on the road connecting Villa Tunari with Shinahota, in the Cochabamba Tropics.

“The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela repudiates the attack on former President Evo Morales,” the statement reads at the time it adds that this “odious fact” is an act of “fascist violence that seeks to inoculate violence and political hatred in Bolivian society.”
In this regard, the official said the Venezuela “consistent with its Diplomacy of peace,” expresses its solidarity with the leadership of the party Movement to Socialism (MAS), while reiterating “its brotherhood and friendship with the Bolivian people.”
Venezuela’s FM said in the face of the attack Venezuela celebrates the start of penal investigations specially instructed by the government of Bolivia’s current President Luis Arce to clarify the aggression which “disturbs the peace of Bolivians,” as Gil said.
Arce said in a post in X platform that “In response to the complaint of former President Evo Morales about an alleged attempt on his life,” he ordered an “immediate and thorough investigation to clarify this fact” and stating that any violent practice in politics must be condemned.
